Enjoys an enviable position on a peninsula, which means the beaches are essentially private. Accommodation is in 2- & 3-storey complexes around a small cove with a glittering white beach. The rooms, refurbished in 2008 with an Indian theme, are equipped with AC, TV, phone, internet access, safe, minibar & balcony/terrace. There are tennis courts, a pool, spa, gym, watersports & a dive centre. Plenty of little luxuries without going overboard. Being small it has a cosy feel, & no ugly scrums for the buffet as in some of the larger resorts. $$$$

Rooms & suites are well equipped, with AC, TV, phone, Wi-Fi, safe, minibar, tea/coffee facilities & balcony/terrace with sea view. There is a 2-bedroom villa with private pool & beach area. There are 5 restaurants, 3 pools, a spa, watersports, dive centre, tennis courts, golf driving range, gym & kids’ & teenagers’ clubs. It is the only hotel on the island to have a private cinema. Certainly no shortage of entertainment for the family, & there is a good beach. $$$$

Family apts have 2 or 3 bedrooms & a kitchenette. There are 2 restaurants, regular evening entertainment, a pool, massage rooms & a kids’ club. Kayaks, lasers & pedaloes are available free of charge. There aren’t many hotels or attractions nearby & you would need a bike or car to explore the area. $$$

A 3-star equivalent hotel across the road from a small beach & a pretty lagoon. Rooms have been thoughtfully renovated & have AC, phone, TV, safe & balcony/terrace. There are 2 pools, limited free watersports, tennis court, a restaurant, small spa & small kids’club. Wi-Fi zone available. The pool area suffers from some road noise & can feel crowded. $$$

A well laid-out hotel, with thatched blocks of 2 & 3 storeys housing clean, comfortable en-suite rooms. All rooms have AC, TV, phone, minibar, safe & balcony/terrace. There are 2 restaurants overlooking the sea, 2 pools, a small spa & a floodlit tennis court (across the road). A good range of non-motorised watersports are free & bikes can be hired. Guests can play at the Heritage Golf Club in the south of the island for a fee. Although rooms can accommodate a child, the hotel is aimed at couples, rather than families.

There is a daily maid service. Some watersports, a dive centre & kitesurfing are available. Run by a German family with a conspicuously German atmosphere. $$

Basic self-catering apartments with 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms, AC & sea view. They are grouped in Creole-style buildings around a pool, in a pleasant garden. The coast is rocky here but there is a small beach & views of Coin de Mire, Flat Island & Round Island. Kayaks, pedaloes & windsurfing are free. You can catch a speedboat to Cap Malheureux for a fee. It is quite isolated & you would need a bike or car to get around. $$
