The hotel location and facilities were just perfect for us. Hotel management and staff were first-class, ensuring guests had a super holiday.
Sarah Lake has exceptional knowledge about the island and the hotel and goes out of her way before, during and after the holiday to check everything, is just as the guests hoped. She goes over and beyond! Cannot recommend her highly enough. We will always use her to book our Mauritius family holidays. |

This was our 4th visit to this hotel. The hotel has much improved since last year in respect to the restaurants/food.
The staff at this hotel are 5 star, lovely friendly people.
This was our 2nd time booking with Sarah lake and her service was exceptional as per last year. Quick prices and very quick responses to any queries.She has already given us an idea of prices for next September, just waiting on flight pricing to be released. We will certainly use Sarah again. |

Reception staff not great, slow sorting our room and putting the right beds in for the kids. Also added money to our bill and made out we were half board when we were all inclusive and had to question it to take it off. Then questioned we’d paid our bill when we left. |

In general I would say the food is excellent. I did get food poisoning twice during my stay, the second time kicked in for the flight home, which is perhaps beyond unlucky so something wasn’t quite right but in general it’s an amazing place and highly rate the food. |

A lovely resort which caters perfectly for families, one big suggestion would be to ensure you book restaurants for your stay as soon as you arrive as things fill up very fast and there is no wriggle room on bookings, we ventured to other hotels a couple of times to mix it up. |

Heritage Awali was spotlessly clean , really personal attention from staff , like a hello in the passing .
I have to mention your colleague Sarah Lake , who is a valuable asset to your company . We eventually made it to Mauritius at the 4th attempt due to the pandemic . She sorted all our rebookings with professionalism and dedication to her client . We are really pleased to have dealt with Sarah , and we will definitely use her services again . It was also great that she took the time to come and visit us at Awali , after a long 1.5 hour drive each way , you wouldn't get that from any other company . We would really appreciate if this comments go to Holidaysplease Head Office , if these comments are passed on to Sarah to show our gratitude . Thanks. |

My daughter is vegetarian and my son had a nut allergy. Though menus mostly highlighted dishes with a V or an N, we always had to double check. Peanuts had been added to the breakfast granola with no labelling and one evening the chef added peanuts to the banana flambe. We did speak to the hotel. More vegetarian options would be welcome. Otherwise lovely resort, so friendly and well maintained. |

We were here for a wedding but would not go to this kind of place for a holiday although some activities included you can only do so much of the same thing the staff service and hotel are excellent but sunbathing eating and drinking all day are not for me We did the nature reserve in a buggy and half day tour of the south which were fantastic but all the outside ventures can obviously become expensive would not go again. |

We were advised on the night we arrived to book the restaurants for our stay. Went to book the following morning to be told that there was no availability so we would have to eat in the buffet for our evening meal. Apparently a lot of travel agents are aware of this so they book tables for travellers even before they arrive so it doesn’t give someone like me a chance especially if only staying for 1 week |

Definitely not five star, more like 4. Two days with no running water in our rooms. Not particularly clean rooms either. Virtually no choice of food for vegetarians or gluten-free options. Kids Pool was not clean. With the exception of one member of staff, everyone was very kind and helpful. Shop in the hotel was extortionate (£30 for suntan lotion, £5 for a packet of Haribo sweets). |

There was nothing I could have asked for in the way of facilities that would have improved my stay. The sun beds were set out sympathetically to look natural amongst the beautiful gardens and beach. There was no shortage of sun beds in whatever part of the hotel I decided to use each day. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The gardeners (often when I travel I find they try not to make eye contact - maybe because tourists don't try to communicate with them)were friendly and always smiled and wished me good morning/afternoon. I would like to return at some point. |

Rooms are getting rather tired and we had to keep getting them in as the toilet leaked and smelt. Wasn't enough staff when hotel was full so couldn't cope in restaurants, couldn't get bookings in a la carte restaurants and there wasn't enough sunbeds, plus most of them were the cheap white plastic type. The AI package was rather strange as to what you were allowed it was restricted by price but by only being able to only have about 40% of the menu? |

We did not receive the honeymooners t-shirt and sarong, as expected. I also felt that there was quite a negative from the off when the guest relations staff were more inclined to tell you what was NOT included in the package. Having visited the hotel before i didn't think that they had continued the same standard and felt that the food was not as good as before. It was disappointing that the restaurants had to be booked in advance. We requested that our bed was changed, as from the 1st night it was very noisy when simply rolling over - this was done on day 3. Towels were a poor quality for a 4/5 star hotel and whilst 'turn down' did occur it was simply removing the bed throw - not what i would expect from a 4/5 star graded hotel |
