The Geographical Bits…
Lapland is actually a region which spans between northern Sweden and Finland with the very top border neighbouring Norway.
Being as it’s the most famous, Finnish Lapland is a bit more developed, meaning overnight stays are often available alongside Father Christmas packages. For couples and those content with being on the naughty list, there are non-Santa-related breaks available including cozy log cabins with saunas or the super-Instagramable glass igloos – If you’re brave, real igloo stays too!
Swedish Lapland had a shining moment on the BBC’s Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby, where Monica Galetti and Giles Coren stayed at the world-famous Ice Hotel. In-keeping with this jaw-dropping experience, Swedish Lapland allows you to dive deeper into the frozen wonderland and appreciate a remote landscape which has molded local culture into a fascinating way of life. Magical Santa breaks are also available to Swedish Lapland, but overnight stays are rare due to lack of hotel capacity.

Northern Lights
The northern lights are a natural phenomenon which appear under the right conditions at certain times of the year. Iceland, Finland, Sweden & Norway are amongst the most famous destinations for viewings but please note, seeing them is not guaranteed – I will however offer you the best dates I can to maximise your chances.
Northern lights viewing period for Lapland (both sides) – September to March, best viewing times between 9pm & 2am.
Visibility occurs when the skies are dark and clear, so cloudy weather may impact your chances of seeing them.
